Panel Discussion | November 2009

In November 2009, GMF Africa hosted a panel discussion on “Financial Access and Capability in Emerging African Markets”. The evening was opened by welcoming remarks from Prof. Dr. Udo Steffens, President of Frankfurt School. Bruno Wenn, CEO of the German Investment and Development Company (DEG), held the keynote speech which was followed by Impulse Statements from Olaf Meier, Managing Director, African Development Corporation (ADC), Torsten Schlink, Senior Project Manager, German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and Jules Ndambu Bendebende, student of Development Finance (MSc) at Frankfurt School. Afterwards, FS students, academic staff and invited guests engaged in a stimulating discussion, which later continued the more informal setting of an evening reception. We enjoyed delicious Ethiopian snacks and our dear Meseret Desta (MIB 2009) performed a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony.
